Obedient Sons :: Swaim Portrait
The rules of black or white tie dress can be fairly ridiculous. So do away with them, yes? Designer Swaim Hutson of Obedient Sons has something a little more realistic in mind with Black Mountain, a formalwear collection for fall '07. ‘I understand the black tie approach but the slightest detail can pop and make sense. Formalwear can be whatever you want it to be,’ says Hutson at his downtown studio in New York. He continues, ‘I’m not one to stick to tradition.’ The result is an extension of that attitude with influences from Hutson’s Carolina roots. [text Michael Cohen, image Michael O'Shea]
